(Beaver Dam) A plea and sentencing hearing was scheduled this week for a Beaver Dam man accused of running from police.
Collin Pahl is facing a felony count of Fleeing stemming from an incident that occurred in August. A Beaver Dam police officer observed a motorcycle heading westbound on the 100 block of Front Street travelling above the posted 25-mile-per-hour speed limit.
The officer activated their emergency lights and began following the bike on North Center Street. According to the complaint, police had to increase their speed to 88-miles-per-hour in order to close the distance between the squad car and the motorcycle.
The pursuit eventually ended when the bike operator pulled over to the right-hand side of the road. The suspect, reportedly identified as Pahl, was arrested at gunpoint.
When questioned, Pahl allegedly said he fled because he was scared but decided to surrender when he thought about what he was doing. If convicted, the 19-year-old faces up to three and a half years in prison.
The plea and sentencing hearing is scheduled for January 26th.
