(Beaver Dam) The next Movie Under the Stars event in Beaver Dam is this weekend. The movie being shown is the 2021 action-comedy film “Free Guy.” Beaver Dam Chamber of Commerce President Tracy Propst says they usually start at Swan Park but moved to a different location for this weekend’s movie.
“When mosquitoes potentially start to set in, not that we have a lot of mosquitos since it’s been so dry, we do move to Slumberland,” says Propst. “This enables people if they want to, you know, sit in the truck beds of their truck, park in the back, they can do that.”
Propst says that the film was supposed to be shown last year but was cancelled due to the weather. She adds that getting licenses for showing movies is not easy.
“In order for us to do that in a grand scale, we have to pay a license and that license is, you know, around $400.”
Movie Under the Stars at Slumberland is this Saturday, July 15th. The film will begin between 8:45pm and 9pm. It is free for the public to attend.
