(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Common Council approved a professional service agreement with MSA for a multi-use path evaluation and cost analysis. The idea was born out of the Hometown Plan Committee, which identified expansion of multi-use trails as a priority. The city has committed $50,000 in American Rescue Plan Act dollars towards projects outlined in the Hometown Plan. The multi-use path evaluation and cost analysis will utilize approximately $15,000.
(Beaver Dam) State Representative Mark Born still has a number of local budget listening sessions scheduled over the next several weeks. The Beaver Dam Republican will visit Oakfield, Byron, and Brownsville on March 10th. On March 14th, Born will be in Waupun along with Senator John Jagler and then on March 21st he will be in Mayville.
(Randolph) There are still a few opportunities for members of the Randolph School District to learn more about an upcoming operational referendum question. The question will ask taxpayers to authorize the district to exceed the state-imposed revenue limit by $1.2-million-dollars annually for three years, beginning with the 2025-2026 school year.โฏUpcoming sessions include at the district blood drive today (Wednesday) and at 6pm tonight (Wednesday night) at the Courtland Township Meeting. A community outreach session is scheduled for March 12th at the Randolph School Board Room at 5pm.
(Byron) A Waukesha man is facing felony Fleeing charges following a pursuit with Fond du Lac County authorities yesterday (Tuesday). The 25-year-old driver fled law enforcement for approximately 2.6-miles before sideswiping a milk hauling semi-tractor trailer, then entering the west ditch of Highway 175, and striking a telephone pole. The driver and a female passenger both sustained minor injuries. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
(Beaver Dam) PAVE is hosting their 16th annual Sweet Thanks event this Friday. It will be a combination of a silent auction and a live in-person dessert auction. This is an important event to help support the only domestic violence and sexual assault emergency shelter and multi-service provider in Dodge County. Funds raised at this event will be used for programming, staffing and other operational expenses.
