(Mayville) The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office has released a statement following its investigation into finances of the city of Mayville.
(Fond du Lac) Bond has been set at $2 million cash for a Fond du Lac man suspected of trying to kill his wife. Fermin Teodoro Lopez-Mendoza made his initial appearance in Fond du Lac County court Wednesday on charges of Attempted First-Degree Intentional Homicide, Mayhem, First-Degree Reckless Injury, and Aggravated Battery. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 4th.
(Washington County) The Washington County Sheriff’s Office participated in an international investigation this week that led to the busting of a human trafficking ring in the Philippines. Thirty-five-year-old Michael Westphal of West Bend is facing 24 counts of possession of child pornography and one count of trafficking of a child. He’s being held in the Washington County Jail on a $500,000 cash bond.
(Madison) The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is now accepting entries for their 13th annual “Air, Air, Everywhere” poetry contest. The DNR-sponsored contest is designed to raise awareness of the importance of good air quality in honor of Clean-Air Month in May. The deadline to submit entries is May 3rd.
