(Juneau) There are just a few days left in this year’s “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” drunk driving campaign. Sheriff Dale Schmidt says there are way too many people making poor decisions by deciding to get behind the wheel of a vehicle while impaired. He adds that getting behind the wheel is a choice, not a disease. The sheriff says that the department takes this matter very seriously and will make arrests when necessary. The campaign runs through New Year’s Day.

The program, which serves about 60-70 meals per day, relies entirely on the dedication of its volunteer drivers. Deliveries take place Monday through Friday between 11:15am and 12:30pm. Volunteers pick up the meals, prepared fresh each day by Marshfield Medical Center Beaver Dam, and distribute them to recipients across the community. Volunteer information is available with this story at DailyDodge.com.
