(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Area Orchestra is putting on their annual holiday concert at the Beaver Dam High School auditorium on December 16th. The event is a two-parter, featuring 5pm and 7pm concerts. The 5pm family concert will feature songs like โ€˜Sleigh Rideโ€™ and music from โ€˜A Charlie Brown Christmasโ€™. The 7pm full concert will include longer pieces, such as โ€˜A Canadian Brass Christmasโ€™. Those wanting to attend can do so free of charge. Children are welcome to take a gift on the way in, courtesy of event sponsors Tom and Judy Heffron.โ€ฏ 

(Beaver Dam) The free Christmas dinner hosted by Beaver Dam Charities along with the Beaver Dam Police Department will be on Tuesday, December 19th from 4:30pm to 6:30pm at the Watermark. Lieutenant Jeremiah Johnson says they brought the dinner back because they enjoyed meeting and interacting with members of the community. Doors open at 4:30pm with a visit from Santa Claus followed by dinner at 5:30pm. Tickets are available for purchase at the Beaver Dam Police Department and the Watermark from 8am to 4pm through Friday or until they are gone.โ€ฏโ€ฏโ€ฏโ€ฏโ€ฏ 

(Madison) Alliant Energy is seeking applicants for their 2024 Innovation Scholarships in Wisconsin and Iowa. As many as 25 students can win up to $1,000 in scholarships to further their academic goals. Applicants will write an essay that identifies a problem in their community and present their own innovative solution using science, technology, engineering, and/or math. Scholarship recipients will be selected based on essay content, participation in leadership roles, volunteer work, community service, activities, and grade point average. (Columbus) The Columbus City Council recently voted to amend the cityโ€™s winter ordinance adding that the city is required to notify citizens of a snow emergency via the city website and other forms of electronic media. Department of Public Works Maintenance Worker Phil Kaschub says the snow emergency signs take around an hour to put up and requires multiple people and a stepladder. He adds that there was an incident last year when a snow emergency was canceled after it started snowing.โ€ฏโ€ฏ 

(Beaver Dam) The Dodge County Sheriffโ€™s Office has some position openings at the department. Sheriff Dale Schmid says there are openings for patrol lieutenant and deputy, who will be getting 12 hour shifts next year and will have half the year off. He adds that if anyone is interested in those openings, they can apply by scanning the QR code on the Dodge County Sheriffโ€™s Office app or by going to the Dodge County website and click on the โ€œWeโ€™re Hiringโ€ tab. Other positions that have openings are patrol and correctional officer.โ€ฏโ€ฏ
