(Horicon) A Milwaukee man was found guilty of running from Horicon police. Roy Morgan entered a no contest plea to a felony count of Fleeing. Two misdemeanor drug charges were dismissed but read into the record.
In January, a Horicon police officer spotted a vehicle speeding on Washington Street and learned that the registration was suspended for emissions testing after a DOT records search. A traffic stop was attempted, but the suspect vehicle increased its speed.
The car increased its speed as it entered River Bend Park traveling in excess of 40-miles-per-hour. The vehicle eventually lost control in a gravel parking lot due to wet and slushy conditions.
A high-risk stop was conducted and the driver, identified as Morgan, was taken into custody. The 32-year-old had a nine-month jail sentence imposed and stayed and was placed on probation for 18 months.ย
