(BEAVER DAM) Beaver Dam High School music students recently spent time learning from professional musicians during a student enrichment program hosted by the Dodge County Concert Association.
The program paired students with The Mexican Brass, a performance group known for blending Mexican music with jazz, opera, and classical styles.
About 45 students, staff members, and Dodge County Concert Association board members attended the event.
During the session, The Mexican Brass performed several musical selections and answered questions from students about their instruments, musical backgrounds, and careers in music. Students also asked how long the group has performed together and about the history behind some of the music they played.
The Dodge County Concert Association says the program is designed to strengthen students’ musical talents, encourage interest in music careers, and build a lifelong appreciation for music.
The student enrichment program is funded through grants from the Beaver Dam Area Community Foundation and the Don and Mary D. Geddeis Charitable Fund.
