Mayville Man Charged With Election Fraud

(Mayville) A Mayville man has been charged with Election Fraud. According to the criminal complaint, Jed Dietenberger illegally voted for a write-in candidate in the 2020 spring election on April 7th.

Dietenberger was convicted of a felony OWI in 2018 and was placed on probation for three years, which ended in January of 2021.

When questioned, Dietenberger allegedly admitted to voting in the spring election. He reportedly said he tried to vote in the fall presidential election but was told he could not by election officials.

If convicted, the 46-year-old faces up to three-and-a-half years in prison. An initial appearance in scheduled for June 6th.
