(Beaver Dam) A Manitowoc teen charged with running from Beaver Dam police has made his initial appearance in court. Eyner Blandon is facing a felony count of Fleeing.
An officer attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle just before midnight Sunday, April 17th. According to the criminal complaint, the vehicle began accelerating at a high rate of speed on Rosendale Street. The driver was apparently clocked going 40-to-60-miles-per-hour while heading northbound on Beaver Street and did not stop for any stop signs.
The pursuit eventually ended as the vehicle came to a stop near the 600 block of North Center Street. Blandon was reportedly identified as the driver and was arrested. He allegedly told police he did not stop because there was drug paraphernalia in the car.
If convicted, the 17-year-old is facing three-and-a-half years in prison. Cash bond was set at $500 and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 5th.ย
