Leroy Meats In Fox Lake Celebrates With Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

(Fox Lake) A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Friday for Leroy Meats in Fox Lake. The business was built in a TIF District that is focused on bringing retail developments and spur economic growth to the city. The 14-thousand square foot building had a soft opening in April and co-owner Scott Hurst says since then the local community has been great in showing their support. Hurst says his business had been looking for a place to expand because the Horicon location was not providing enough space for processing. He says Fox Lake officials approached him several years ago about coming to the city. Hurst says he is excited about the potential economic growth surrounding his Fox Lake store through the addition of a proposed Dollar General and Subway. Mayor Tom Bednarek says a tentative open date for Dollar General is slated for December of this year while Subway is still in the process of hammering out specific details with corporate.
