Law Enforcement Beefs Up Holiday Patrols

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation says there will be zero tolerance for speeders during the upcoming holiday period. Officers from 120 law enforcement agencies in Wisconsin will be mobilizing for Summer Heat, a crackdown on speeding and dangerous driving. Wisconsin State Patrol Major Sandy Huxtable says law enforcement will be using airplanes to detect speeders and contacting officers on the ground to pull over the drivers. “As part of the Summer Heat traffic safety campaign, the State Patrol and local law enforcement will be out helping stranded motorists and keeping a sharp eye out for speeders and aggressive drivers, Huxtable says, If you’re planning to hit the roadways, stay alert, especially in work zones, and be sure everyone in your vehicle is buckled up at all times.” The Summer Heat enforcement begins tomorrow and continues through Wednesday July 18.
