Laurie L. Jeche, age 60 of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Thursday, January 28, 2021 after a battle with cancer.
Laurie was born in Beaver Dam on February 10, 1960, to Arnold and Betty (Prieve) Wodill’s family of six. She grew up in Beaver Dam with her siblings, Cathy, Sheryl, and Richard and attended St. Stephen’s Grade School before graduating from Beaver Dam High School. An all star athlete, Laurie played volleyball, basketball, softball, and was cheerleading team captain. After attending beautician school in Madison, she spent 40 years as a hair stylist, and was one of the five main stylists at Mane Stage Hair Salon in Beaver Dam, where she loved building close relationships with her clients. She was united in marriage to her husband, Steven Jeche. Family oriented, she loved spending time with her twin boys, Alex and Taylor, and going on family vacations. She particularly liked when her boys surprised her with visits from Hawaii. Her motto was “work hard, play hard;” going to concerts and listening to live music were things she enjoyed, and her favorite artist was Elvis Presley. In her free time she also liked to garden and spend time outside in warm weather, especially watching her son play softball. Laurie was free spirited and her life goal was to retire and relocate to Tennessee. She was a member of St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church.
Laurie is survived by her husband, Steven Jeche; twin boys, Taylor Jeche and Alexander (Yetsen Gouland) Jeche; step-son, Branden Jeche; mother, Betty Wodill; mother- and father-in-law, Carol and Rich VandeZande; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Cathy and Tim Boyle, Sheryl Wodill and Russel Watson, and Vicki and Kendal Bollerud; nieces and nephews, Brooke Boyle-Schneider, Bob Schneider, Kendel Foch, Caitlynn Foch, and Cody Foch; great niece, Kabrea Trevelan; and further survived by other relatives and friends.
