Juneau Man Given Probation For Fleeing Beaver Dam Police

(Beaver Dam) A Juneau man was placed on probation for two years Wednesday for running from Beaver Dam police. Jonathan Prag entered a guilty plea to a felony count of Fleeing and a misdemeanor charge of OWI Third Offense. A one-year jail sentence was imposed and stayed.

An officer was dispatched to a business on Park Avenue for a report of a suspicious vehicle with a black hood and loud muffler last March. A vehicle matching that description was later located by police and accelerated away when officers activated their emergency lights. The vehicle was clocked going roughly 85-miles-per-hour in a 25-mile-per-hour zone on North Spring Street but stopped once it reached Industrial Drive.

A high-risk traffic stop was performed and Prag was identified as the driver. The 24-year-old was under the influence of methamphetamine and was taken to the Beaver Dam hospital.
