(Watertown) The Watertown Police Department is starting a program that prepares young adults for a career in law enforcement. The agency is taking applications for the Public Safety Cadet Program.
Throughout the course, cadets receive training and education in a number of aspects of policing and can also obtain certification in law enforcement activities. The Public Safety Cadet Program is a national non-profit organization founded and managed by active and retired officers and business leaders. The program is offered to those between the ages of 14 and 20.
The Watertown Police Department is holding an informational meeting on May 10th at 6pm in the basement of City Hall. Students and parents interested in the program are welcomed to attend.
