(Juneau) An arrest warrant was issued Tuesday for a Juneau man accused of assaulting a minor. Joel Birky is facing multiple felonies including First-Degree Child Sexual Assault, Child Enticement, and Intimidate a Victim.
Dodge County authorities began investigating a report of a child sexual assault in January. The eight-year-old victim reported staying at Birky’s Juneau home between Christmas and New Year’s Day. She allegedly said Birky made inappropriate contact multiple times and stated that he pinned her down.
According to the complaint, the victim said Birky chocked her and threatened to kill her if she told anyone. If convicted, the 37-year-old faces up to 215 years in prison.
