Hunter Rescued After Getting Lost In Eldorado Marsh

(Eldorado) It took authorities just over one hour to rescue a Fond du Lac man who got lost in the Eldorado Marsh after hunting Sunday evening. Robert Deere fell through the ice up to his thighs around 5:45pm. The 38-year-old was cold and wet when rescuers found him, but medical personnel were able to treat him at the scene and released him. The Fond du Lac County Communication Center used GPS coordinates from his 911 call to pinpoint his location. Assisting in the rescue were the Department of Natural Resources, Eldorado Fire, North Fond du Lac Ambulance and the Ripon Fire Department provided a drone and two water rescue personnel.
