High School Football Preview – 11-19-20

There are just two games on the final night of the high school football season tonight.

Randolph vs. Lourdes Academy @ St. Mary Catholic – 6pm

A rematch of previous Trailways matchup came together quickly on Wednesday after Cambria-Friesland was forced to forfeit their game with Randolph and Reedsville cancelled their game with Lourdes.  These two teams met on the same field back on October 24th with Lourdes picking up the 17-14 win.  All the scoring came in the first half with Will Pollack’s 27-yard field goal at the end of the half being the difference.  A big goal line stand by the Lourdes defense in the 4th quarter helped the 2nd ranked Knights to stay unbeaten.   Brayden Haffele threw a pair of touchdowns for the Rockets while Josh Bauer threw for 246 yards and a tD and rushed for 87 and a score.

Coleman @ Markesan – 6pm

Both Markesan and Coleman saw their playoff pods blown up by coronavirus.  Markesan never got to play their Level 1 playoff game because Westfield decided to forfeit.  The Hornets then scheduled a non-playoff game last week at Reedsville where they dropped a 34-16 decision.  Markesan was schedule to play Weyauwega-Fremont in a D5 Level Two game this week, but they had to cancel because of a COVID outbreak on the team.  After forfeiting their Division 6 Level One playoff game last week, Coleman agreed to travel to Markesan for the season finale.  Coleman sophomore Owen Kinziger has rushed for 503 yards and eight TDs this season.  Coleman last played on November 6th when they blew out Tomahawk 67-0 in their Northwoods Conference finale.
