Herbie was born on December 14, 1948 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to Herbert and Julianna (Westenmeyer) Lehner. He was one of seven children raised on a farm in rural Beaver Dam and was a farmer from the moment he could walk. Herbie lived gloriously for the Lord. His humor, kindness, thoughtfulness, passion for protecting the unborn and his love for the farm life shone thru his genuine character. Leading by example, he instilled strong morals and a great work ethic in his children. He was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish, and was active in the Knights of Columbus and the Dodge County Chapter of the WI Right to Life. He was a pioneer in helping to establish the Pregnancy Support Center of Dodge County. His silly jokes, contagious smile, and laugh could lighten any mood. His grandchildren thought he was a close second to Superman. Herbie was blessed to find love later in life, and after the passing of his second wife, Grace Penman, he married Marverne (Wagener) Paitrick on December 14, 2018. Their time was much too short together, but their love for one another will endure.

Herbie is survived by his first wife, Sandy Lehner, and his current wife, Marverne Paitrick-Lehner; children: Claire (Jim) Admire of Marshfield, MO, Mary (Kevin) Rohde of Beaver Dam, Magdalene (Tracy) Brock of Trevor, WI, Dan (Trina) Lehner of Beaver Dam, Mike Lehner (Mary Spease) of Beaver Dam, and Joey (Lindsey) Lehner of Beaver Dam; step-children: Virginia (Russ) Morgan of Claremore, OK, Therese (Larry) DeSimone of Leesburg, VA, Pamela (Darryl) Schulz of Franklin, IN, Daniel Paitrick (Carrie) of Waupun, Paul (Heidi) Paitrick of Fox Lake, and Peter (Diane) Paitrick of West Bend; grandchildren: Ian and Aubrianna Admire, Jayden and Lizzy Rohde, Breeanna and Sydney Brock, Wyatt and Rylan Lehner, Charlie Spease-Lehner, and Isaac and Jude Lehner; six step grandchildren; siblings: Rose Klavekoske, Therese (Carlos) Campos, Ginger (Dan) Behring, and Bernie (Jim) Hafenstein; sister-in-law: Colleen Lehner; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Grace; brother, Guy Lehner; and sister, Celine Brzezinski.
