Grothman Discusses Overturning Of Roe Versus Wade On Community Comment

(Dodge County) Congressman Glenn Grothman discussed the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe versus Wade when he was our guest Monday on WBEV’s Community Comment. The federal lawmaker has been a pro-life supporter during his political career. He says it is easier to be pro-life today than it was nearly 50 years ago due medical advancements in ultrasound technology that can show how far along a pregnancy is.

Grothman says he does not foresee a strain on the state’s social safety programs with an increase of children. He says an underlying problem is doing more to get the father’s involved in the children’s life. Grothman says there is an expectation that the government is going to be the father which should not be the case.

Grothman notes that social programs are more generous than they have to be and people who take advantage of them are better off than those who he refers to as the (quote) “working poor.”
