Gerrymander Special Session Has Little to Show So Far

(MADISON) The Wisconsin Legislature has been in special session for more than two weeks to consider a constitutional amendment to ban partisan gerrymandering. But nothing has really happened since the session began on April 14th.

โ€œHistorically, I think thereโ€™s been a really strong argument that we should have the redistricting process be independent and outside the political process,โ€ said State Rep. Andrew Hysell (D-Sun Prairie) โ€œAnd thatโ€™s been something that for decades, I think Democrats have been pushing for.โ€

But Hysell says heโ€™s not sure what the holdup is. Since the session hasnโ€™t been gavelled out, so thereโ€™s still an opportunity for Governor Evers and Republican legislative leaders to negotiate.
