Generous Donation Bolsters Upgrades To Beaver Dam’s Swan Park

(Beaver Dam) Upgrades to the city of Beaver Dam’s oldest park are being bolstered by a generous donation. A proposed 20-year master plan for Swan Park is being broken up into multiple phases for budgeting purposes. Phase One designs include the rehabilitation and revitalization of the park’s two lagoons along with a replacement of the wading pool with a splash pad. Mayor Becky Glewen thanked Fred Schwertfeger and Horicon Bank for a $100-thousand dollar donation, which would be $50-thousand dollars for each lagoon. The current price tag for the lagoon restoration is estimated at around a half-million dollars, while the splash pad is priced around $1.4-millionGlewen calls the donation a “great kick-off for the fundraising campaign for the park.”
