(COLUMBUS) A garage and three vehicles are a total loss after an early Tuesday morning fire in Columbus.
Fire crews were called to 355 Richmond St. at 4:24 a.m. for a fully engulfed, unattached garage. Initial reports indicated no one was inside, but three vehicles and a motorcycle were in the building.
The garage, built in the mid-1990s, was destroyed along with everything inside. No injuries were reported.
Fire officials said crews worked quickly to protect nearby homes and a neighboring garage directly behind the building. Downed, sparking power lines, wind and heavy smoke blowing across the road made conditions more dangerous and forced firefighters to attack the fire from multiple angles.
Columbus Fire was assisted at the scene by Lifestar EMS, Columbus Police, Columbus Utilities, Columbus DPW, Fall River Fire and CLR Fire Department. Precision Towing helped remove the vehicles so crews could fully extinguish the fire.
