(Fond du Lac) The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office joined agencies across Wisconsin to raise awareness about seat belt safety during the annual Click It or Ticket campaign. It ran from May 22nd through June 4th, during which officers issued eight citations for seat belt violations.
It also provided an opportunity to educate drivers and passengers of the important safety message. Sheriff’s Captain Bill Tadych says the campaign was a success. He adds that through their enforcement efforts, they helped keep community members safe and reminded drivers of the importance of buckling up.
Tadych notes the goal was not about issuing tickets, but about reminding people of the importance of the simple action that can save a life. The campaign coincided with the Memorial Day holiday.
