Eric was born on January 2, 1962, in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, to the late Harold and Marty (Billing) Schoenberger. After graduating from Beaver Dam High School in 1980, Eric joined the United States Army. He served from 1983 to 1993 in Germany, Korea, and Louisianna operating rocket launch systems, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. Eric earned an Associates Degree in Mechatronics from Moraine Park Technical College. Through the years, he worked at several companies including MEC and P&H Crane and, for the last 10 years, Eric worked for Turn-Key Solutions until retiring in January of this year.
Eric was an enjoyable person to be around; he was jovial, he was a great storyteller, and he was always up for some good-natured teasing. He could fix anything, he was a wonderful cook on the grill and he found great joy in helping put a jigsaw puzzle together. Eric and Stella loved to travel to many places including New Zealand, Hawaii, and Liberia. While in Liberia, he helped build a well that provided water to an entire community. Eric was fond of photography and was just beginning to explore and improve his skills.
Survivors include his wife, Stella Schoenberger; his son, Spencer Schoenberger; a stepson, Nate Druecke; his brother, Gregg (Jill) Schoenberger; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Eric was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Heidi, in 2007; and a stepson, Nick Druecke.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Eric T. Schoenbergerโs name to the Badger Honor Flight.
