Driver Killed in Washington County Crash

(FARMINGTON) A person is dead after a two-vehicle crash that shut down a Washington County intersection for hours Wednesday afternoon.

Dispatchers began getting 911 calls around 4:19 p.m. reporting a crash at County Trunk Highway H and Forest View Road in the Town of Farmington. One caller said a driver in a gray SUV wasn’t responding.

Deputies, along with Boltonville fire crews, first responders and West Bend Rescue, rushed to the scene.

When deputies arrived, they found the driver and only person inside the gray SUV unresponsive. Crews tried to save the driver but were not able to.

The driver of the other vehicle, a blue SUV, was conscious and alert.

Investigators say the blue SUV was heading west on Highway H as it approached Forest View Road. The gray SUV was traveling east and tried to turn north onto Forest View Road, pulling into the path of the blue SUV. The vehicles collided, hitting the gray SUV on the passenger side.

The sheriff’s office crash reconstruction team was called in to document the scene.

The intersection remained closed for about three and a half hours as crews responded, investigated and cleared the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
