(Beaver Dam) Downtown Beaver Dam Inc. says they will continue to work closely with city officials as progress continues on revitalizations efforts for the downtown. The common council was presented Monday night with a three-dimensional rendering that offers a walk-through of the re-envisioned downtown. The images stemmed from a revitalization study that highlights the area surrounded by Mill, Vita, Maple and Beaver streets.
Downtown Beaver Dam Inc. member Tekla Wlodarczyk Nunez credits the organization for laying the groundwork to revamp the downtown. She says they have done a lot of base planning and early data gathering on the downtown as well as held brain storming sessions. Wlodarczyk the city council was appreciative when they handed their information over. Acting President Karen Gibbs says growing area business and highlighting local events is important.
Sculptures, planters, walking paths, benches, ornate archways, a kayak launch, and a waterfall at the corner of Front and Center are a few of the features recommended in the study. Wlodarczyk-Nunez says a public presentation will be held at the city’s February 5th common council meeting if residents are interested in learning more about the project.
