Donations Accepted For Dodge County Toy Bank

(Beaver Dam) Donations are being accepted for this year’s Dodge County Toy Bank effort. The Toy Bank is in its 58th year of serving local families with the goal of providing all area children with a Christmas gift. Shirley Kitchen is with the toy bank and shares the group’s history.

“The toy bank actually started in 1965 and it was started at the Farmers State Bank which later became Chase.”

Kitchen says the goal from that day forward has been making sure every child gets at least one gift to open on Christmas Day. Pat Frankenstein with American Bank says that anyone who is interested in donating toys can drop them off at a number of different locations.

“They can be dropped off at any of the American Bank locations here in town,” says Kitchen. “Edward Jones in Juneau is a drop off point too if there are people over in Juneau that would rather not drive to Beaver Dam, they can do that. Slumberland locally in Beaver Dam is also collecting.”

Other locations include Horicon Bank and National Exchange Bank in Beaver Dam, YMCA, Key West Tanning Salon, Lidtke Motors, Shoe Sensitive, and Invenergy in Brownsville. Toy delivery will be taking place on December 10th.
