Dodge County Youth Celebrate National 4H Week

(Juneau) More than 6 million youth across the country will be celebrating National 4-H Week.  Taking place annually during the first full week of October, the Dodge County 4-H utilizes the week to celebrate the great things that the 4-H youth development program offers to young people, and highlights the incredible youth who work each day to make a positive impact on their community.

Research shows that participation in 4-H has a significant positive impact on young people.  Findings from Tufts University’s 4-H Study of Positive Youth Development indicates that compared to their peers, participants in the 4-H program are nearly four times more likely to contribute to their communities, two times more likely to pursue healthy behaviors, and two times more likely to engage in science, technology, engineering, and math programs outside of school time.

Dodge County is currently home to 660 youth members and over 270 adult volunteers.
