(Juneau) The Dodge County Sheriff is asking those who plan to enjoy St. Patrick’s Day activities to be careful. Dale Schmidt says establishing a designated driver can save lives and encourages calling someone to set up a ride before going out. Schmidt says have fun but do not overindulge.
During yesterday’s appearance on Community Comment, Schmidt said it’s better to catch a ride in a taxi than with one of his deputies. He says their rides are a one-way trip to the hotel in Juneau called the Dodge County Jail.
Schmidt says the last thing they want to do on St. Patrick’s Day is respond to an injury crash. The sheriff does encourage the public to stop by the historic Beaver Dam Swan Park to see the band shell lit up in today’s festive color.
