(Beaver Dam) The Dodge County sheriff says law enforcement activity was minimal during this year’s county fair. Dale Schmidt notes that there were a few underage individuals attempting to purchase alcoholic beverages.
“We did have some people who still like to come in and try to consume when their under the age of twenty-one…we wrote a number of citations for underage drinking while we were out there,” says Schmidt. “We had a couple of other small skirmishes that we took care of.”
Schmidt adds that there were a lot of positive interactions between the public and law enforcement during the event.
“Between myself and the public and my staff and the public…just very positive…and very safe event as it always is.”
The sheriff says there were a few lost children reports throughout this year’s fair and notes that his agency was able to keep its perfect record of reuniting lost kids with their parents.
