Dodge County Officials Still Looking To Fill Vacancy On County Board

(Juneau) Dodge County officials are still trying to fill a vacancy on the county board. The District 26 seat was held by Tom Nickel who did not run for re-election in the spring.

There were no names on the ballot but there were 17 write-in votes. Dodge County Clerk Karen Gibson says Nickel received the most votes, but he declined the seat which will now be filled by appointment.

The seat consists of Wards Two, Seven, and Eight in the city of Waupun and Ward Two in the town of Chester. The board chairman will appoint the replacement with confirmation by county supervisors. The term will run until April 16th of 2024.

Interested individuals of the district should submit a letter of interest to Chairman Dave Frohling 127 East Oak Street, Juneau, WI 53039 by Monday, May 23rd.
