Russ Kottke Reflects On Long Career As County Board Chairman

(Juneau) It is the end of an era on the Dodge County Board. Longtime board Chairman Russ Kottke did not seek re-election in the spring, ending his 24-year stint as a county supervisor in District Two. Kottke also served as chairman since 2004. He still serves as chairman in the town of Trenton, beginning his tenure 33 years ago.

Kottke says the support of others first got him involved in local politics. He says he was a town supervisor for four years then after their chairman passed away in office, was appointed to the position.

Kottke says he was also appointed to serve at the county level after their district supervisor resigned for health reasons.

District 23 Supervisor David Frohling was selected to replace Kottke as chairman on the county board. Kottke says Frohling is a good choice and is someone who understands finances.
