Dodge County Census Participation Higher Than Statewide Rate

(Dodge County) Dodge County’s 2020 census response rate is tracking higher than the state of Wisconsin. So far, nearly 75-percent of the county has filled out the census while the state is recording a response rate of 68.8-percent. However, several regions within the county are lagging behind the state number.

Beaver Dam has a response rate of 67-percent, Hustisford/ Lebanon 68.1-percent and the Fox Lake area is reporting 57.2-percent. County officials say there are no immediate plans to improve response rates in those areas.

According to the 2020 census website, for the next two months census takers will work with administrators at colleges, senior centers and prisons to make sure everyone is counted. Beginning in August, volunteers will conduct interviews door-to-door with those who have not responded, although there is no word if the pandemic has affected those plans.

Dodge County Clerk Karen Gibson encourages citizens who have not filled out the census to do so because it has an impact on representation and county funding. The 2020 Census can still be filled out online at
