(Portland) Dodge County authorities have arrested a Portland man after discovering a clandestine drug lab. Sheriff’s deputies were called to an address in the town of Portland for a possible domestic disturbance on Sunday. While investigating, authorities learned of a suspected clandestine laboratory used for manufacturing illicit drugs located in the basement.
The Dodge County Drug Task Force was then called and began to further identify the chemicals, equipment, and evidence associated with a drug lab. The Task Force determined the lab was used to manufacture ecstasy and a search warrant was obtained.
The following day, the search warrant was executed with assistance from the DOJ’s Clandestine Laboratory Response Team. Investigators recovered suspected illicit controlled substances, drug paraphernalia, lab equipment, and hazardous materials. Sheriff’s officials say Daniel Buretta was taken into custody. The 40-year-old is facing numerous charges including Maintain a Drug Trafficking Place, Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Possession of Narcotics, as well as Domestic Battery and Disorderly Conduct.
The sheriff’s office says the residence has been made safe by the Clandestine Laboratory Response Team, and the community should have no concerns for their safety.
