Deputy Cleared In Shooting Of Pardeeville Man

10/29/17 – The Columbia County District Attorney has ruled that a fatal officer-involved shooting this summer was justified.  Thomas J. Selje of Pardeeville was shot to death by a deputy on August 21st when he pointed a gun at the deputy and a woman who was being led to safety.  Selje had reportedly said he would kill any law enforcement officers who showed up.  As Columbia County deputies arrived on the scene in Pardeeville, at least two shots were fired in their direction.  Selje was killed as he walked toward the deputy and the woman.
