Terry M. Kanas, 81, of Mayville, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at Clearview Nursing Home in Juneau.

A visitation for Terry will take place from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mayville. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at the church at 4 p.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2017 with Father Tom Biersack presiding. Inurnment will take place at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Mayville.

Terry was born the son of Clarence and Lucille (Polzen) Kanas Sr., on August 26, 1936 in the Tn. of Hubbard. He attended Mayville High School. On April 11, 1964 Terry was united in marriage with Sharon L. Kaiser at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mayville. He was employed by Maysteel and retired from Gleason Reel in Mayville.

He was a longtime member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Mayville. Terry was a veteran of the US Army, and was an avid sports fan. Terry truly loved life thanks to his family, friends, and his love of nature, which included hunting, fishing and traveling. He will be loved and missed by all.

Terry is survived by his wife of 53 years Sharon Kanas, 2 children; Craig Kanas of West Allis, Christine (Robert) Coulter, Jr., 2 grandchildren; Justin Coulter, Lane Coulter, brothers and sisters; Clarence (Barbara) Kanas Jr., Paulette (Ronald) Feller, Ronald Kanas, Cheryl (David) Feller, Rosemary Heintz, Judy (Brian) Otto, Barbara (Daniel) Keller, Roger Kanas, brothers and sisters in law; Mary Kanas, Carol (Earl) Rhode, Donald (Barbara) Kaiser, Wayne (JoAnn) Kaiser, and Charlotte (Richard) Ruenzel. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and 1 brother Jerome Kanas.
