Columbus Council Approves Rural Fire Group Amendment, Purchase Of New Fire Truck

(Columbus) The Columbus City Council signed off an amendment to the agreement with the Columbus Rural Fire Group and to purchase a fire truck to replace Engine 92 at a recent meeting.

The amendment to the current contract states that all municipalities must sign off on the purchase before it is finalized. City Treasurer Krystal Larson attended the recent Rural Fire Group meeting where the amendment was reviewed.

โ€œAll of the communities were represented, two of which had not had their public meetings that said, โ€˜yesโ€™ to both the amendment and your next item, the purchase,โ€ Larson says.

Rural Fire Group President John Krause noted that he would need to round up signatures for the remaining municipalities late last week. He indicated to the Columbus Common Council that everything should be wrapped up by Monday.
