(Wyocena) Columbia County authorities arrested a Pardeeville man on his Fifth Offense Operating While Intoxicated charge. A sheriff’s deputy on patrol in the town of Wyocena Tuesday observed a vehicle traveling with an equipment violation.
Authorities say when the driver observed a marked squad car behind them, they attempted to avoid having the deputy following their vehicle. The deputy ultimately conducted a traffic stop as the driver, reportedly identified as Brandon Tomlinson, pulled into a random driveway.
When law enforcement made contact with the 42-year-old they allegedly observed numerous indicators that he was under the influence of alcohol or drugs. During a subsequent OWI investigation, the deputy determined that there was probable cause to arrest Tomlinson.
In addition to the OWI charge, Tomlinson is facing Operating after Revocation and Failure to Install an Ignition Interlock Device. He was transported to the Columbia County Jail and is awaiting his initial appearance in court.
