Cambria Reportedly Used As Training Ground In Plot To Kidnap Michigan Governor

(Cambria) A village in Columbia County was reportedly used as a training ground for a plot to kidnap Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, according to multiple media outlets. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel cites a recently filed affidavit in Michigan Federal Court that says several men charged with plotting to kidnap Whitmer came to Cambria from July 10th through the 12th. Five men including an informant engaged in trainings ranging from firearms to combat and attempted to build an explosive device that failed to detonate. Where the exercises took place were not identified in the complaint which implicates 13 men in the kidnapping plot, the Journal Sentinel reports. The group discussed possibly bringing Whitmer back to Wisconsin to put her on trial for treason.
