(Randolph) The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office is holding a California man in its jail following a fatal collision between a semi and a passenger truck. The crash happened at the intersection of County Highway M and Highway E in the town of Randolph Friday morning.
Authorities say Aryan Chadha of Rancho Cucamonga was driving the semi north on M and failed to yield to the passenger truck which was going east on Highway E. The driver of the passenger truck was taken to a hospital where he later died.
It is believed he was not wearing a seatbelt. A passenger in the passenger truck suffered minor injuries, as did Chadha.
The 24-year-old Chadha was cooperative with the investigation and was subsequently arrested. He is facing a felony charge of Homicide by Negligent Operation of a Vehicle. The Wisconsin State Patrol assisted at the scene.
