Bond Set At $10M For Columbus Homicide Suspect

(Columbus) Bond was set at $10-million-dollars for the man accused in the Independence Day shooting death of a Columbus business owner. In the early morning hours of July 4th, police say 22-year-old Jonathan Luna shot and killed 42-year-old Jose’ Fuentes-Hernandez in downtown Columbus. Hernandez owned Tequila’s Bar and Grill.

A criminal complaint says the two had a brief fight at a bar. Luna went to his apartment and got his gun and reportedly returned to the bar where he waited for Hernandez to leave. Once outside, Hernandez was shot. Luna left town and bought a bus ticket to Texas but was captured at an east side hotel in Madison before he had a chance to leave.
