(Green Lake County) A 35-year-old woman was found dead in the Fox River in Green Lake County Saturday afternoon. Dispatch received a call around 12:30pm reporting that a woman who had been outdoors with her two dogs off Huckleberry Road was suddenly missing. The woman’s hat was found at the edge of the river where she had apparently been painting the outdoor scenery. A search for the female was started with authorities deploying a hovercraft, divers and a rescue boat along with all-terrain vehicles and drones. The woman was found dead in the river around 2:30pm, about three-fourths of a mile downstream. One of her dogs was found but the other has not been recovered. Agencies responding to the scene included fire and rescue units from Princeton, Berlin, Green Lake and Markesan along with the Marquette and Green Lake County sheriff’s offices. The incident remains under investigation by the Green Lake Sheriff’s Department.
