Beaver Dam Man Placed On Probation For Town Of Herman Burglary

(Herman) A Beaver Dam man was placed on probation Friday for burglarizing a residence in the town of Herman. Doty Broadnax will spend three years on probation after previously entering a no contest plea to a felony charge of Burglary as a Repeat Offender. A relative of the victim visited the residence on Highway 33 in September of 2019 and reported seeing a male attempting to load a snowblower into a black pickup truck. The truck speed off and was later pulled over by authorities in Washington County. Broadnax was arrested along with a second individual who was a passenger in the vehicle. When questioned, the 56-year-old denied he was at the property to burglarize it but admitted he was there to check out a car. According to the criminal complaint, numerous power tools and equipment from the property were confiscated from the pickup truck.
