(Beaver Dam) A Beaver Dam man charged with threatening law enforcement made his initial appearance in court Monday. Marco Solis is facing two felony counts of Threat to Law Enforcement and misdemeanor charges of Disorderly Conduct and Resisting. During the early morning hours on Sunday (October 6th), a Dodge County Sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop for a burnt out headlight on Madison Street in Beaver Dam. The deputy reportedly noticed a strong odor of intoxicants coming from the vehicle and started a field sobriety test with the driver. A short time later Solis, who was an acquaintance with an occupant of the vehicle, walked up to the scene and allegedly became argumentative with the deputy. According to the criminal complaint, the deputy reported that Solis appeared to be heavily intoxicated and refused warnings to calm down. The 21-year-old was eventually arrested and allegedly made threats towards a Beaver Dam police officer while being escorted to the Dodge County jail. If convicted, Solis faces over 12-years in prison. Cash bond was set at $500 and a judge will decide next month if there is enough evidence to order a trial.
