Beaver Dam Library Officials Excited About Opportunities Following Renovation Work

(Beaver Dam) Officials with the Beaver Dam Community Library say the ongoing construction at the facility will mean expanded services down the road. On Monday, work official began renovating the buildingโ€™s roof to address defects and water leaks. Sarah Cournoyer is the administrator of the Beaver Dam Library.

โ€œOur plans are to bring things backโ€ฆwe need to make room for the people so that thereโ€™s spaces that they can use and thatโ€™s part of the plan for the future,โ€ says Cournoyer. โ€œSo, with the city investment in the roof and the clerestory windowsโ€ฆthey have invested one-point-two-million in the integrity of the building. The Library Board is investing one-million-dollars in renovations towards the libraryโ€ฆso, things that will improve access and make the library easier to use.โ€

Cournoyer adds that their goal is to make the library a (quote) โ€œmore attractive destination.โ€ She notes that the roof project is slated to be completed by the end of May, but the construction schedule is weather dependent.

The building will remain open during the project, but visitors should be on the lookout for signage and exercise caution near the worksite.
