(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Community Library is holding a fundraising event this weekend for its Next Chapter renovation project. The event, at Ooga Brewing, will feature a costume contest and a 50/50 raffle.
Entry fees for the costume contest are $5 or $20 for a team of up to five people. Costumes will be judged on creativity, details, props, make-up, and theme. Team entries will also be judged on how well everyone coordinates. Literary, movie, or pop-culture themes are encouraged.
One dollar from each pint or 12oz pour during the fundraiser will be donated to the Next Chapter campaign by Ooga. The event is Saturday, October 19th from 5pm to 8pm. Winners of the costume contest for individual and team categories, and the 50/50 raffle will be announced at 7:30pm.ย ย
Library renovation goals include improved building accessibility with a relocated entrance from the parking lot, added active learning spaces, future flexibility, community and study rooms, and expanded services and programs.
