Beaver Dam High School Student Participating In Honor’s-Only Medical Program

(Beaver Dam) A Beaver Dam High School student has been selected to join an honors-only program this summer for those who want to go onto the medical field. Izabelle Knight will be attending The Congress of Future Medical Leaders in Boston from June 24th through the 26th. The purpose of the event is to honor, inspire, motivate and direct the top students in the county interested in becoming a physician. Knight’s nomination was signed by Dr. Mario Capecchi, winner of the Nobel Prize in Medicine and the Science Director of the National Academy of Future Physicians, to represent Wisconsin based on her academic achievement and leadership potential. During the three-day Congress, Knight will join students from across the county and hear Nobel Laureates and National Medal of Science Winners talk about leading medical research. She will also learn about cutting-edge advances and the future in medicine and medical technology. Knight is currently in the eleventh grade at the Beaver Dam High School.
