(Beaver Dam) Beaver Dam School District staff members will meet Thursday to discuss the school board’s offer for this year’s salary. District board members and administrators have been in negotiations with the Beaver Dam Education Association’s Negotiations Committee, which represents all certified professionals in the district, over raises based on last year’s average cost of living.
Beaver Dam Educator’s Association President Matt Ziebarth says if a majority of staff in the district like the board’s proposal, and think it’s the best offer they can get, they need to give them a chance to show their support. He adds that their negotiators are not convinced this is the best offer the district can do, but if the teachers support it, they will accept it.
All certified professional staff will meet at 4:30pm to discuss the offer and vote on whether to accept it. Certified professional staff includes non-administrator professionals such as teachers, counselors, speech and language therapists, psychologists, social workers, and nurses, who work in public schools.
