Beaver Dam Man Sentenced To 10 Years In Prison On Child Porn Charges

(Beaver Dam) A Beaver Dam man was sentenced to ten years in prison for possessing illicit content of children. Matthew Haase entered a no contest plea to three felony counts of Child Pornography in May.

Seven additional felony charges were dismissed but read into the record. The 41-year-old was also placed on 15 years of extended supervision.

The social media platform Snapchat filed a CyberTip report in October of 2020 that a user uploaded two files suspected to be child porn. The account was tied back to Haase. When questioned by authorities, Haase admitted to possessing images of child porn. He also told investigators that he would send these images to friends.

At sentencing, Dodge County District Attorney Kurt Klomberg said the reports he had to read in this case from victims who were abused to make their child sex tapes and images were truly the most tragic collection of people’s stories he has ever read in his 20 years of doing this work.

He adds that the public needs to accept that searching for, possessing, and trading these kinds of images have a lasting and seriously-damaging impact on the people who were the victims of these heinous acts.
